Pre-construction Preparation
Site and Material Verification: Clear debris from the site and ensure it is dry and well-ventilated; verify that sandwich panel specifications and condition meet design requirements and that core material density complies with standards.
Base and Framework Preparation: Use a level to calibrate the flatness of the framework (furring strips/joists) and apply two coats of anti-rust paint to metal components; install a waterproof membrane and concrete sub-base on the floor, and construct a 10–15 cm concrete plinth at the base of the wall panels.
Tool and Plan Preparation: Prepare cutting tools, stainless steel screws, low-temperature resistant sealant, etc., and create a panel layout plan in advance.
Core Installation Steps
Measurement and Cutting: Precisely mark layout lines according to cold storage design dimensions; cut panels using professional tools to ensure smooth, burr-free edges and keep dimensional errors within 2 mm.
Wall Panel Installation: Begin hoisting from the corner of the structure; join panels using tongue-and-groove connections with embedded low-temperature resistant butyl sealant strips; secure using concealed clips or stainless steel thermal-break fasteners, maintaining a spacing of 300–400 mm between fasteners.
Ceiling Panel Installation: Install pre-cambered T-bars according to the drawings; lay panels starting from one corner, resting longitudinal panel ends on the wall panels and T-bars; maintain a slope of 5‰–10‰ to prevent condensation accumulation.
Joint Sealing: Apply polyurethane sealant evenly to the tongue-and-groove joints on both the interior and exterior sides; reinforce corners with specialized corner fittings and L-shaped aluminum alloy trim; use dedicated sleeves and expanding foam sealant for pipes penetrating the panels.
Thermal Bridge Prevention: Use thermal-break aluminum or treated timber for the framework; install thermal insulation sleeves on bolts penetrating the panels; place insulating gaskets between metal components to prevent electrochemical corrosion.
